Need new clothes? Brisbane is home to dozens of charity or thrift shops – which we commonly call op-shops in Australia. Here you can find high-quality clothing donated by the community at stores like Lifeline, Vinnies and Salvation Army. Often you can pick up brand-new items with the tags still on, and the stores also stock kitchen goods, books and household items if you need anything for your home.
On the market for some new prescription glasses? Don’t strain your eyes trying to study with old lenses or broken glasses. Optometrist Bailey Nelson offers 15 per cent off for students and has the coolest range of frames around.
